Several aspects in waste management might have negative or positive impacts on climate change. Among these: emissions from waste treatment and landfilling, waste to energy and related savings in fossil fuel use, carbon sequestration and sink in landfilling, energy use for recycling and waste reduction, decrease in virgin paper demand and consequent higher carbon sequestration in forests, etc. The Special Issue will deal with these aspects exploring any tool and strategy that might reduce negative impacts or maximise positive effects.
Detritus - Multidisciplinary Journal for Waste Resources and Residues
Detritus is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal which publishes papers on waste resources, residue management and engineering. The journal is aimed at extending the “waste” concept by opening up the field to other waste-related disciplines (earth science, applied microbiology, environmental science, architecture, art, law, forensic engineering, etc.) welcoming strategic, review and opinion papers.
Detritus is double open access: free access for readers and free submission for authors in order to promote the transfer of scientific knowledge with no economical constraints. Accepted papers will be immediately processed and made available online with a DOI number.
The journal is currently indexed in SCOPUS, Web of Science (Emerging Sources Citation Index - ESCI), Google Scholar, DOAJ and ANVUR.
